Are you interested in training to become a teacher? If so, we have opportunities at Testwood School that you might be interested in. If you enjoy working with young people and have a passion for learning, we’d like to hear from you!

Testwood School is a secondary school in Totton with an OFSTED rating of good. We are looking for the next generation of teachers to come and be part of our school community. We currently work in partnership with two Initial Teacher Training providers, the Wildern SCITT (in association with accredited teacher training provider i2i Teaching Partnership) and the University of Southampton.

We are looking to train teachers across subject areas. We would be particularly interested in hearing from individuals with a desire to train in technology-based subjects as well as Maths and English.

We understand that those keen to get into teaching come from a variety of academic and workplace backgrounds with different levels of experience. The main thing we ask is that you are passionate about the subject you wish to teach and, also about giving the young people you teach the best opportunities to progress.

If you are thinking about joining the teaching profession and are keen to find out more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss this further. At Testwood School, we are experienced in facilitating various routes into teaching and can help you find the route that is most suitable for you.

Candidates should hold a degree from a UK higher education provider, or a recognised equivalent qualification. You will also need to have a grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

If you aren’t quite ready to train as a teacher and would like to gain more experience working with young people first, a popular way to do this is to take on the role of Study Supervisor or Learning Support Assistant. Please check our current vacancies to see positions available.
