The National Curriculum states that Computer Science equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world, using information technology to create programs, systems and a range of media. At Testwood, students are already seeing the benefit of acquiring these skills at both Key Stage 3 and 4.

The Computer Science department aims to give pupils a greater understanding of the digital world, how it works and how it is constantly changing. It is an increasingly important area of the life students lead, therefore it is vital for us to consistently develop these ideas throughout our curriculum and in our lessons. The emphasis is on helping our students to understand what goes on behind the scenes; how programs, applications and hardware are used to using a plethora of programming skills.
